NJ Transit Train Hits Pedestrian In Red Bank, North Jersey Coast Line Suspended (Developing)

A person was struck by a New Jersey Transit train in Monmouth County, officials said.

North Jersey Coast Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Red Bank and Long Branch, NJ Transit said on Twitter at 2:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

A pedestrian was hit by a train near Red Bank. The condition of the person wasn't known as of press time.

Customers were asked to check NJ Transit's website for alternate, backup, and contingency plans.
